Founded in 1993, the International Intelligence History Association (IIHA) was established to promote scholarly research on intelligence organisations and their impact on historical development and international relations. The IIHA is registered under German law as Arbeitskreis Geschichte der Nachrichtendienste (AGN) e.V.
The Association’s international membership – consisting of historians, political scientists, cryptologists, active and former intelligence officials, and members of the armed forces – promotes interdisciplinary research and teaching in the field of intelligence history.
Annual meetings provide a forum for academic exchange, and The Journal of Intelligence History, published by the IIHA, informs members and the broader public on matters pertaining to scholarly research on intelligence.
